Frown lines form when facial expressions are made as the muscle under the skin contracts. Over time, as your skin ages, these repeated expressions cause lasting frown lines. Neurotoxins, such as XEOMIN®, are prescription medications that block the release of chemicals that cause these muscle contractions so frown lines are softened.

HOW DOES XEOMIN WORK?

Xeomin is made with botulinum toxin type A, the same purified protein that is used in Botox. However, unlike Botox, Xeomin leaves out some of the other accompanying proteins. When Xeomin is injected into the skin, the botulinum toxin works to relax the underlying facial muscles to prevent them from contracting. By doing so, Xeomin is able to improve the appearance of existing frown lines and wrinkles between the eyes while also preventing new ones from appearing.
